Ken Mallory was Finemaster George Fasching’s first target. Lured in with softball questions – is lunch OK?; is Betty OK?; did you have good holidays; do you see Bob Margett around? (Ken reports that Bob is busier than ever.) – Ken was then faced with a photo of “Mt. Bradbury,” Mt. Rushmore’s slightly less famous cousin. Along with two ladies, the profiles on Mt. Bradbury included Ken’s now famous likeness carved in life-like realism. This honor earned Ken a recognition fine of $55.
Acknowledged for her hard work and leadership with the Boy Scouts, Lucia Bernal took the opportunity to invite Rotary members to attend a dinner honoring their leader. But Finemaster George had a different question for Lucia: Had she seen the LA Times article about restrooms of the future being gender-neutral? Having no experience with men’s rooms, Lucia could not help George with his confusion over the new-fangled restrooms. But, George’s story of a lady who entered the wrong restroom at the car wash gave the club a good laugh.
