Bob Hoffman’s new SUV is a Subaru and he has had it for a week. After Deputy Finemaster Bob Harbicht assessed a fine of $25 and in view of the stock market’s recent performance, Bob Hoffman is going to be turning it back in for a refund.
Invited to confess the subject of his recognition, Bruce Marrs guessed his wife Susan’s imminent birthday. No, it was the Rhone River cruise that they enjoyed recently. The cruise from Arles to Dijon, following three days in Nice (It was nice), cost Bruce $75.
Also traveling, Terry Earll and his family spent three days in Rome before embarking on a cruise that included Spain, Monaco, and Gibraltar. The Earlls’ sons and grandchildren were included with the highlight of the trip being their eldest son proposing to his girlfriend. The fine began at $50, but Terry generously volunteered to recognize his family’s happiness by increasing the fine to $100.
Does Dave Freeman have anything against Mike Hoey, Bruce Marrs, Bob Harbicht, or Pat Dolphin? No? Then why didn’t he attend the Rotary social on Tuesday? He claimed that he must’ve forgotten or that he thought it was on Wednesday. Either way the fine of $50 should serve as a good reminder.
Imy Dulake didn’t attend the social either, but her excuse was that she had been busy working. This hard working realtor was busy driving all over Beverly Hills showing houses to her prospective new movie star clients. The fine was still $50.
Last was a coin-flipping game that involved the whole room. Ray Bushnell and Mike Real provided the two quarters needed and Bobs Hoffman and Novell did the flipping. Members guessed heads or tails for each coin by placing each hand on either their own head or “tail.” Round One with one head/one tail left ten standing. Round Two with two heads got the group down to five. Round Three, one head/one tail, left only Francine Chiu, Dong Chang, and Richard Schulhof standing. The final round with two heads gave the winner Francine … the two quarters. But she got off with no fine, so that was a real win!
