Recognitions Friday 4/19/13
The Rec-N-Crew (Jim) fired a blast early at visitor Jim Hanrahan after Hanrahan had a brief stint at the podium early in the meeting. Eric Barter had invited Hanrahan to approach and share a joke he had written about “Family Law”. Hanrahan wanted to explain exactly what family law was all about before reading the joke. Jim Rider first fined Eric Barter $25 for not introducing Ashley Andrews (her specialty, Family Law) to Hanrahan, then $42.50 to Hanrahan for the joke. Next T.G. Metzger was complimented on his good job of fine master last week while covering in Jim’s absence. Jim found out that Metzger had made fun of him last week and fined him $21.
Bob Harbicht was asked to stand and answer the rumor spread by Jim Helms that a statue of Bob had been installed at the intersection of Campus Dr., Huntington Drive and Holly, directly across from the Chamber office. Jim Rider had a newspaper photo of Bob standing and admiring the statue which he asked Bob to fetch for a $25 fine.
Tom Crosby naturally led us in song at the start of the meeting but ended with an announcement that wife Virginia was staring in a musical this weekend down in Hollywood. Virginia plays the part of a homeless woman and Rider wanted clarification whether or not Tom made the “homeless” reference as real or not. Tom’s explanation cost him (Rider Math) $99 less 10%= $49.50
