Erin Cello, Director of Marketing & Communication for the Ontario (United States) International Airport, presented the program.
Mission: To Connect people, places and experiences with the Vision of becoming the Worlds Airport of Choice! caring for what matters most.
The number one priority for the airport leadership is Airline Recruitment; getting more flights into and out of Ontario.
- 4.5 million potential customers in the geographic area
- Profitability is good for all airlines at ONT
- Currently serving 5.3 million passangers annually
- Courting Moxie – a start up airline
Ontario is attractive recently adding new transatlantic flights to 21 destinations. Currently have 9 carriers working out of 21 gates, room for growth and no curfew, unlike others. Carriers include Alaska, China Airlines, DELTA, FRONTIER, jetBlue, UNITED, volaris, American Airlines and Southwest.
Ontario also has a PAW squad, dogs to relieve stress, added a new lounge, concessions and colorful signage to make navigation easier.
Questions: Growth potential? Unlimited. Why is it more expensive than LAX? Carriers and volume, ONT working on that with incentives. When will the broken escalator in terminal 4 be fixed? Out for bid, expensive. How about a body scanner in terminal 4? Soon. Are most flights full? Yes. Any new Boing 737s? No
