Jerry Sharell is a native of Farrell, PA. He says, “I knew I could sing better than doing anything else, so I worked my way through college singing in clubs and saloons all over Eastern Ohio.” Upon graduation from Kent State University, he was a radio disc jockey/newsman in Sharon, PA at WPIC and in Beaver Falls, PA. at WBVP. He started in the record business as a promotion rep for Mercury Records in Cleveland. Jerry then joined Main Line Distributors in 1962 and helped them grow to be one of the biggest record distributors in the states. With executive positions at both Buddah Records and A&M Records, he was instrumental in the success of many recording artists including: Herb Alpert, The Carpenters, Gladys Knight, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Queen, U2, and Jackson Browne, just to mention a few.

Jerry has always admired Frank Sinatra. He shared with us some interesting stories about the man. His love and knowledge of music can be heard on his weekly radio show, “Weekends with Sinatra and Sharell,” which can be heard on KJAZZ 88.1FM on Saturdays at 10 PM to Midnight and Sundays at 10 AM to Noon. The program features the music of Frank Sinatra.
