Health Science Immersion Programs (HSIPs) are internships targeted to high school students, offering an introduction to the academic, research and professional components of health sciences. Internships are offered at various colleges and universities. In February 2020, Impact Internships is offering 9 Saturday HSIP internships at USC Health Sciences Campus.

Students get a closer look at a variety of science related subjects, including neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, cancer research and other topics. Students often get a better idea of their desired career path, general life development and direction for college admissions. Students also get ideas and information related to research, financial aid, helping them develop their goals for further education.

A typical Internship would include lectures from science professors and PhD Grad Students, counselor led college admissions lectures and a small group research project to build science inquiry and public communication skills.

Impact Internships is a “Non-Profit” organization with a volunteer board of directors. Impact finds that California is good for its diverse demographics, high demand for internships and leaders willing to contribute to the content of the internships.
