Four students from the Speech and Debate Class at Arcadia High School competed in the Four Way Test Speech Contest this week by giving a 5-7 minute speech. Each did their best to share the benefits of the Four Way Test and how it produces peace. Some of the speakers focused on service, some focused on peace, and others focused on the military. It was brave of each of these young people to get up and give their speeches in front of a large crowd of adults. The students were:
Andrew Dang – He is in the 11th grade. He sees himself as an all around philanthropic tech geek. He want to go to MIT.
Eric Zow – He is in the 10th grade. This is his first year in speech and debate. He wants to one day study finance or law.
Carnik Ajar – He is in the 11th grade. It is also his first year in speech and debate. He wants to go to Stanford and become a neurologist.
Melanie Lin – She is in the 11th grade. This is her third year in speech and debate. She wants to go to UC Berkley and study business and minor in music.
The winner of the competition was Eric Zow.
