Our new Sergeant at Arms/Fine Master, Bob Harbicht, announced that the Club was moving away from the Zoom Happy Basket recognitions from the last Rotary year and back to recognitions (fines) at our weekly meetings. You may be fined $50, $100 or more at the meetings, but will be billed only a maximum of $25 each quarter.
At the Installation Dinner Dave Freeman was fined $50 for his marriage to Lean. At the July 9th meeting Bob Novell was fined $50 for confessing this was his first Rotary meeting in 16 months; Rosie was assessed $50 for her new puppy, Mr. Peabody; John Sun $50 for Rosie’s new blinds; Terry Earll $50 for his upcoming 3-month trip to Israel; Chris Haddow $50 for his trip to Nashville, TN; and, finally, Jim Pontello for his vacation to visit his son’s farm in Tennessee.
At the July 16th meeting Brian Hall was not fined for his Napa vacation after his retirement from FFCU, but was assessed $100 for personally building and installing the acrylic shields now used at the Credit Union in order to save money. Jackie So was fined $50, but the fine is in abeyance until the new Credit Union president becomes a member. Mike Danielson was fined $50 for his trip to visit family in Michigan and for becoming the newest member of the Monthly Lunch of Arcadia Schools’ Retired Band Directors/Music Teachers. Dong Chang was fined $50 for arriving at the meeting when the meeting ended and for celebrating 50 years of marriage with Betty.
Reminder – All fines are used for the Club’s charitable service projects and not for our operations.
