Our newest member, Lori Huisken regaled us with the story of her life, beginning around 1972. Lori’s first word was ball, she is a sports fan, tom boy, number 4 out of 5 kids. She grew up playing sports with the boys, so much fun, kind of like her dad had a boy.  Attended Valley Christian High School in Cerritos CA.

After HS graduation, and perhaps without extensive climate research, Lori moved to Sioux Falls Idaho attending college at Dort Community College, graduating and then attending University of Sioux Falls, receiving her MA in Education. Loria taught school and coached Volleyball.  Lori pretended to enjoy the cold and snow, all the while thinking of California.  Lori did meet her future husband, albeit for the weird last name, married and is still happily married to Christopher with two children.

Lori did get tired of the cold and ice fishing (that might be Minnesota) and moved back to California with Christopher, where they have been raising Gabe their son and Ellie there daughter.  They located in San Gabriel for the golf course… She now is the proud owner of Anytime Fitness in Arcadia (9 E Foothill Boulevard), where she does training and fitness coaching for their clients.  Lori was invited to the club by Jim Pontello, thank you Jim.

Questions for Lori included: Do you still play soccer and do you want to play in an adult league, no and maybe. Why did she choose Anytime Fitness, did research and with over 4,000 locations a great franchise. How much can Jim bench press; not sure but appropriate for his age and fitness level.
