The 86th Arcadia Rotary Installation saw the club back at the Westin in Pasadena under the superb direction of Rich Hutton.
The evening began with a lovely reception for Rotarians and their guests. The program began with a brief welcome from our Master of Ceremonies, Rich Hutton. Reverend Philip Wood gave the invocation and Jim Rider and Tom Crosby led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and God Bless America. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and then proceeded with the events of the evening.
First on the agenda was the awards presentation.
1. Mimi Hennessy presented the Ernest E Jensen Service to Youth Award to Tom Landes who has devoted so much of his life to the Arcadia High School Music Program.
2. Rosie Mares presented the John R Fee New Member Award to Aaron Rose.
3. The Alton E Scott Community Service Award was presented to a very surprised Bruce McCallum by Tony Parrille.
4. Yvonne Flint was awarded the H.T.Michler Rotarian Award.
Congratulations to them all.
Mimi Hennessy presented Outgoing President Brad Miller with his President’s Photo Album. This year the album was a bit different than past years and everyone was invited to sign it after the program. Brad thanked his board for the great work they did in the 2011/2012 year and gave a brief summary of the many things we accomplished during his term. With the club now at 100 members strong, we are in good shape to take on new challenges. He then recognized Sandra Caldero with a Special Award and Paul Harris Fellow for all her hard work and tireless contributions to the success of the club.
PDG John Fee installed the new board with a few little known facts about each of the members.

Next came the President’s address from President Eric Barter. Eric kept his remarks brief, touching on a few of our upcoming projects and explaining that we would be donating a wheelchair in the speaker’s name as our speaker’s gift this year. He introduced his family and friends who had come out to support him this evening and expressed his thanks to club for their support.
The evening was capped off by dancing with music supplied by a DJ. Thanks to Andy Bundesmann for making that happen. It was a wonderful evening of sharing Rotary fellowship. Thank you to everyone who has provided our leadership in the past and best of luck to our new leaders in the coming year.
