The following notice was in the November 5, 1954 High Gear, a few years before Methodist Hospital opened.

“The final campaign for the local hospital fund will be in November. Arcadia Rotary will be asked to enlist 30 members for a half day each to call on commercial business houses. They will work in groups of 3 or 4 with other service club men. This will be about the least each of us can do for a project so important to us.”
