Detective Dan Crowther
Arcadia Police Department
I grew up in the City of Glendora and had always wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a police officer. I was hired by the Arcadia Police Department in 1991 as a Police Cadet. In 1994 I was hired as a Police Officer with the City of Arcadia and attended the Rio Hondo Police Academy. Upon completing my training at the Academy, I began to fulfill my life long dream becoming the fourth generation of my family to work in the Law Enforcement Profession.
I have worked for the Arcadia Police Department for 19 years. Three years as a Police Cadet and 16 as a Police Officer. As an Officer, I worked in the Patrol Division for 10 years. During that time I worked various collaborative assignments including being a Field Training Officer, an operator on the SWAT Team, and a Reserve Officer Program Coordinator.
My current assignment is as a Detective. I have been a Detective for the past six years. During my assignment as a Detective I have worked gangs/narcotics/vice, forgery/fraud, and currently crimes against persons (assaults, sex crimes, homicides, etc). In addition to my current assignment, I am still a Coordinator for our department’s Reserve Officer’s. I am also a board member of the Arcadia Police Officer’s Association
I was recognized as the California Reserve Coordinator of the year by the California Reserve Officer’s Association as well as the Officer of the year by the Arcadia Police Officer’s Association.
I have earned my Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from Citrus College and I recently obtained a Bachelors Degree from Cal State University Long Beach.
I am married to my High School Sweetheart and have two very active daughters (9 and 12). In my spare time I enjoy going camping with my family, making wine, and working in my garden.
I am very proud to wear the uniform of the Arcadia Police Department and to serve this community.
