1. GEORGE FASCHING announced that his son Robert was getting married at Holy Angels Church on Saturday 01/09/2010. Congratulations George!
2. GIL STROMSOE passed around the Polio Plus pigs for contributions to eradicate polio. He stated that Rotarians around the globe have donated approximately $7 million to date including almost $200,000.00 from Arcadia Rotarians.
3. JACK PAN announced that the annual LUCKY BALDWIN DISTRICT BOY SCOUTS DINNER will be held on Friday 01/29/2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Angeles Church, 360 Campus Drive, Arcadia, CA. The dinner will celebrate, among other things, 100 years of Scouting. The cost is $10.00 per person. 4. DICK MARTINEZ and TOM CROSBY announced that the Rotary Amigos project is set for the weekend of 01/30/2010. The project will be to construct a free standing patio cover at an orphanage on a horse ranch in the rural part of Tijuana. They stated that there should be no security problems as they will go directly to the orphanage after crossing the border and afterwards will go directly to the Grand Hotel with dinner to be at a restaurant across the street from the hotel. There will be something to do for all skill levels. It is mandatory that everyone have a valid passport in order to be able to cross the border back into the United States.
5. MATT WEAVER announced that the Rotary International Convention will be 06/22/2010 and 06/23/2010 in Montreal, Canada. If you register before 03/31/2010 the registration fee will be $345.00 per person. See Matt for further information.
