Eric Barter gave an update on Rich Hutton’s mother who is 94. She is in hospice care and only has a few weeks to live. Please keep Rich and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Pres. Pat thanked Larry Callahan for arranging the meeting at Arcadia High last Friday evening. The event went off very smoothly, and Larry reported that $6,000 in mini grants were awarded to teachers in the school district, and the students who participated in the speech and music contests collected a total of $600 in prize money. The winners will go on to District competition where they will be eligible fora top prize of $5,000. Larry gave special thanks to Lori Huisken who helped him with coordinating the event, and Ken Chan who was the M.C.
Tony Parrille advised that we will be DARK at Embassy Suites next Friday. That will be our Day at the Races, with doors opening at 11 AM and first post at 1 PM. We will be in the Frontrunner Restaurant.
Frank Hall brought attention to our 2 upcoming fundraisers, the Field of Honor and our Monte Carlo Night. He is looking for more sponsors for the events.
