1. The  Club’s Board meeting will be held on Wednesday 04/19/2017.
  2.  The District Assembly will be held on Saturday morning 04/22/2017 at Sitting Bull Academy in Apple Valley.  All Board members should attend.  See President Rosie for more information.
  3.  The club’s annual Casino night will be held on Saturday evening 04/22/2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Arcadia Community Center.  This is one of the club’s main fundraisers and it should be a fun evening.
  4.  In celebration of Arbor Day, the club meeting on Friday 04/28/2017 will be held at the Peacock Cafe at the Arboretum.  The club will be dark at Embassy Suites.
  5. Bob Harbicht brought the club up to date on the club’s annual Field of Honor to be held the week of 05/20/2017 through 05/30/2017 at Arcadia County Park.  He said that we have over $45,000 in sponsors.  The Pasadena Star News will be the official Media Sponsor.  Bob said that from the proceeds received from the Field of Honor $10,000 is to be set aside each year for 3 years until
    $30,000 is collected which will be used to build a Veteran’s Memorial Monument at Arcadia County Park.  The club set aside $10,000 from the proceeds last year and planned on setting $10,000 this year.  However, an anonymous donor recently donated $20,000 for the project so we now have the $30,000 needed to start the project.  The $10,000 that was to be set aside this year for the project can now be used for the club’s charities.
  6. Bob said that volunteers are needed for the Field of Honor.  Westfield Mall is donating the use of a Kiosk at the mall this weekend 04/15 and 04/16 to advertise the Field of Honor with the continuous running of a video of the Field of Honor .  Volunteers are needed to man the Kiosk over the weekend.  A sign up sheet was taken at the meeting and there will also be a sign up sheet on-line.  Contact Teri Muse for more information.
  7. Bob also said that each member should pass out the pamphlet on the Field of Honor to family and friends seeking sponsors and selling flags (cost of $50/flag).  You can go on-line to get a blurb on the Field of Honor which you can paste an email to all of your family and friends.
  8.  Sam Falzone announced that volunteers are needed to assemble the flags on Saturday 04/29 at Pat Dolphin’s warehouse.  For further information contact Sam Falzone.
  9. Past President Eric Barter announced that the club’s installation dinner will be held on Friday 06/30 at the San Gabriel Country Club.  We will be dark at the Embassy Suites on that date.
  10.  The following were awarded as the Students of the Month:  Academics – Ruffina Silva Garcia; Athletics – Jacob Kampen; and Performing Arts – Anastasia Barkow.  Congratulations to each of you.
  11. The club’s annual Honoring Seniors luncheon will be held on Tuesday 05/09.  Volunteers are needed.  Contact George Fasching.
  12. The District Conference will be held the weekend of 05/19 – 05/20 in Palm Springs.
