Member Update: Mary Milefchik suffered a broken hip and is in Methodist Hospital. According to Don, she is up to having visitors and phone calls. Please send her a card or give her a call to let her know we are thinking of her.

Be sure to be at our meeting on the 19th when we demote our president, Mike Ojeda. This is always a time of levity as we say goodbye to our current president at the end of his term.

June 27 will be the evening of our installation honoring our incoming president, Mike Hoey. It will be held at the Arcadia Community Center. Matt Weaver is in charge of the event and promises it to be short on speeches and long on fellowship and having a good time. Sign ups for tables will take place at next week’s meeting.

Eric Barter announced the upcoming Relay for Life to take place on Aug. 1st and 2nd at Santa Anita Race Track. We will be serving Pastrami sandwiches at the event that raises money for Cancer research.

Frank Griffith gave a report on the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts’ dinner honoring Imy Dulake for her community involvement and her tireless efforts in support of youth in our area. Imy’s husband Richard and their son and daughter were in attendance, as well as many Rotarians. Pres. Mike remarked that with all the things Imy does for the community, she must not have time for sleep!
