1. Sam J. Falzone announced that a sign-up sheet for next Friday’s (12/16/2016) Christmas Meeting is being circulated for Rotarians to indicate if they plan to attend and any guests that they plan to bring

2. Sam J. Falzone also announced that Arcadia Rotary’s Day at the Races is set for March 3, 2017.

3. Raina Martinez of Foothills Unity reminded us that Christmas gifts (and/or donations) were being sought for needy children. As previously reported (via Dave Freeman), Foothill Unity is gearing up for the Angels special event, where they will benefit many families and children in need with clothes and toys of particular interest to each child. Please sign up to contribute $10 to $25. Participation help would also be appreciated Friday, December 16, 2016 (wrapping, packing, etc.).

4. Bruno Esquivel, our Director of Community Service, announced the Arcadia High School Students of the Month:
a. The Performing Arts Student of the Month is Kylie Giuking. She has a 3.58 GPA. Her clubs include Kare 4 kids, Allies, My friend and I, Church outreach ministry. Her leadership experience is Secretary (jr year) President (current) for Orchesis. Her community activities include Boys and Girls Club. Her hobbies include Guitar, Singing, Make-up artist
b. The Athletics Student of the Month is Matthew Garcia. He has a 3.5 GPA. His clubs include Student Sierra Club, His leadership experience is Captain of Varsity and Jr Varsity Water Polo, along with treasurer of Student Sierra Club. His school activities include the Constitution Team and Percussion; His hobbies include Hiking, playing with his dogs and watching USC football.                                          c. The Academic Student of the Month is Melissa Morris. She has a 3.98 GPA. Her clubs include Interact club, LEO club and Student Sierra Club. Her leadership experience includes being school mascot in the Fifth Grade. Her community activities include AVID Mentor, Girl Scout (for 13 years), youth soccer referee, Amigos de los Rios volunteer, vocal ID ambassador and Clinton campaign volunteer. Her hobbies include listening to music, playing with dogs, hiking, drumming and traveling
