1. In order to arouse interest in membership, Rotarian magazines are being collected for distribution to the waiting rooms of doctors and dentists. It is suggested that they be brought to the next weekly meeting. (per Mike Ojeda.)

2. Rotarian of the Month certificates were awarded to to High Gear Assignment Editor Dirk L. Hudson (for his work in scheduling and coordinating assignment dates to Volunteer Reporters, relating to the categories of announcements, recognitions, and programs), and to Arcadia Rotary’s Vice President Michael Ojeda for his many contributions to the success of the club. Michael Ojeda’s contributions include serving as (a) Membership Chair (in which he brought the club back to over 100 members), (b) Social Chair, with the aid of Rosie Mares, organizing committees, and volunteers for such club service events as Relay for Life at Santa Anita Race Track (in regards to cancer) and as Team Rotary Captain in the November Walk for a Cure at Dodger Stadium (in regards to juvenile diabetes), and  (c) Vice President (as Eric Barter’s right-hand man). 3. August 26, 2012, 5:30 p.m.: Arcadia Museum Foundation is hosting a fund-raising dinner at the site of the new Education Center (between the Community Center and the Museum). (per Steve Pelletier.)

4. September 14, 2012, Arcadia Rotary’s “Progressive Dinner” is being called off until Spring for lack of enough members signing up to be hosts. (per Bob Harbicht.)
