Art Killian passed away last Friday, August 8, 2014. His memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. The location will be the Church of the Good Shepard, 400 W. Duarte Road, Arcadia. (announced by the Rev. Phil Wood)

b. Coming Events:

1. A Red Badger meeting will take place after the club meeting on Friday, August 15, 2014. (announced by Teri Muse.)

2. The District Governor Fiesta will take place on Friday, August 22, 2013. from 6 to 8 pm at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sartwell 1501 Highland Oaks Drive, Arcadia. We’ll be enjoying margaritas, beer, wine and excellent food catered by El Portal restaurant. The cost is $35 per person. Sandra Caldero will accept payment on behalf of the club. 3. Viva Las Vegas! The Derby Restaurant is holding a benefit for the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills. It will be a casino night, Saturday, August 23, 2014, 7-11: p.m. Dustin has 30 free tickets for entrance for Arcadia Rotarians, who are helping sponsor the event. (announced by Andy Bundesmann).

4. Monrovia Rotary is hosting an Old West BBQ and Casino Night on September 13, 2014, 6–10 p.m. The location is the Monrovia Community Center, 119 E. Palm Avenue, Monrovia, California (across the street from the Monrovia Library). The cost of $70 per person includes dinner, appetizers, entertainment, and 250 playing chips, etc. (announced by Bryan Earll, President of Monrovia Rotary, and nephew of Terry Earll of Arcadia Rotary).
