1. Two of our members are recovering from surgeries. Ernie Jensen, who suffered a torn ACL while trying to master the art of trampoline jumping, had a ligament replaced and is doing well. Rick McKenzie has a new knee and is recovering from his surgery.

2. Mike Real made a request for a host family for an exchange student. He is 16 and comes from the Canary Islands and his first language is Spanish. He will spend the school year at Arcadia High. If you can volunteer, it would be for a period of 3 to 4 months. Your obligation would be to house and feed him as you would do with other members of your family. Other Rotarians can get involved by providing transportation and entertainment. If interested, please contact Mike.

3. Matt Weaver and Erich Rail will lead a hike that will include the area behind Dodger Stadium. It will take place on Sat. June 2nd. A sign up sheet was circulated at the meeting. Please contact Matt or Erich if you would like to participate.

4. Pres. Mike Ojeda extended a well deserved thanks to Erich Rail, Jim Ryder, and their committee, for a great Monte Carlo Casino Night last Saturday night. He also thanked our Interact Club for their efforts in setting up the room for the party. Although the final figure for the funds raised wasn’t given, it was described as very substantial.
