Mark your calendar for Oct. 4. Arizona State will play U.S.C. and there will be a pre-game tail gate party, according to Bruce McCallum. More details will be provided as we get closer to game time.
Brian Hall, Director of Membership, encouraged each of us to bring prospective members to a meeting. He has put together a brochure about Arcadia Rotary that should be distributed to anyone interested in our club. They are available at the back table and can be picked up at the next meeting.
Pres. Mike Ojeda was given 4 Dodger tickets for the Sat. Aug. 23d game. Mike held a raffle for the tickets and the winning bid of $200 came from Andy Bundesmann.
Our District Governor Larry Skaggs and his wife Vicki were at the meeting and Eric Barter presented Larry with a tool belt kit to use while working on his Project Hope. The belt, quite ornate, even had a pocket designed to hold his favorite beer.
D.G. Skaggs took the opportunity to present Paul Harris Fellows to Silvia Ramos and Ramon Oseguera. When it came time to present the pin and certificate, they were not to be found, but Silvia and Ramon were assured that they would get them shortly. Larry congratulated them for their contributions and gave us a brief background of what it means to be a Paul Harris Fellow.
Pres. Mike called Kenneth Chan to the podium along with his sponsors Frank Griffith and John Murphy. Ken was introduced as our newest member and has the classification of Education – Private Schools, Retired.
