MATT MCSWEENY MADE A PAUL HARRIS FELLOW
Gil Stromsoe made the owner of Matt Denny’s, Matt McSweeny, a Paul Harris Fellow with a $1,000 contribution on behalf of our club. Gil thanked Matt for all the good work he has done for the community and presented him with a PHF certificate and pin. Matt thanked the club for the honor and said that Matt Denny’s would match the contribution.
TURKEY TROT FUNDRAISER
Mary Salcedo told us of a new opportunity to raise funds for youth sports scholarships. We will join the Claremont Sunrise Rotary in a Turkey Trot on Nov. 25th, a 5K/1K Fun Run. Check-in is at 6 AM at 1st Street, Claremont Depot. Mary said we would go as observers this year to see how this fundraiser operates. If interested in going, please call Mary Salcedo.
JR. DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION 5K WALK, NOV. 7TH

GOLF OUTING, SAN GABRIEL COUNTRY CLUB, NOV. 8TH

POTENTIAL ROTARY LEADERS SEMINAR
John Murphy gave a fine waiver to the person who knew what the initials PRLS stood for. Mike Real knew the answer and was granted the waiver. This seminar is for new and continuing members who are interested in expanding their Rotary knowledge and leadership skills. On Sat., Nov. 13, the seminar will be held at Etiwanda Gardens, Rancho Cucamonga. You can register on the District website, www.district5300.org, or let John know you are interested.
