This poignant and poetic 2003 Pulitzer Prize – winning play captures 1929 Florida at a time when cigars were still rolled by hand and “lector” were employed to educate and entertain workers. The arrival of a new lector is a cause for celebration.

The evening will begin with dinner at

Barney’s Only Place in Town

110 W. Sierra Madre Boulevard, Sierra Madre across the street from the playhouse.

There will be a set menu of several selections including coffee, tea and soft drinks.
