President’s Address
Not many of us knew that Brad has been very active and involved in community organizations. Brad was a founding member of the Arcadia Sunrise Rotary Club
Brad has served on the American Red Cross Board and Executive Board as well. He has also served as the Boy Scout District Chair for the Lucky Baldwin District. Brad joined Arcadia Rotary in 1997, and has served on several positions in the club, as well as the board of directors. You might remember as editor of the High Gear he initiated the committee format and moved to an online newsletter instead of the snail mail method. While Director of International Service he coordinated with Kerikeri Rotary Club in New Zealand and raised funds through a matching grant to develop a new Maori Carving Center in Hokianga, New Zealand. It was also pleasing to know that Brad’s late father, Milton Miller, was a member of our beloved Arcadia Rotary Club and that Brad had completed an internship with Milton for five years and developed his professional Chiropractic skills to provide specific care tailored to each patient.
Brad has ambitious goals for his year as President and does not understand the phrase “it can’t be done”. During his remarks, Brad emphasized he expects more involvement by members and wants us to participate to the fullest extent. He wants to eliminate the old 80/20 rule and encouraged all of us to stay involved. Our club will be collaborating with other clubs on projects during Brad’s year and he promised more public event exposure. We will also have a budget for Rotary public image. Brad is looking into a Community Gardens Project and has identified seven local properties where this could work. Another goal is to broaden our membership by using the Rotary brochure designed for prospective members and actually asking prospects to join. The idea of fund raising will play an important role during Brad’s year and he will be searching for new ideas from all of us.
Brad pledged to remain fiscally prudent and asked all of us to invest in self, time and money for the greatest Rotary Club in the world.
