Arcadia Rotary is back in the baking business again with the Posts having a bun in the oven. Looks like we’re having an early summer baby!!!
Mark your calendars for February 3, 2012 and stand back as Dennis Lee turns 67, retires from Methodist Hospital, and with Carolyn, turns tail heading straight to Prescott, Arizona. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200 but do release $67 immediately.
Not under the radar, in a new to him yet used, bright yellow 2008 Chevy Corvette is our own Brian Hall, who shamelessly promoted the 3% loan rate from Foothill Credit Union which afforded him this ‘fine’ ride. – $75
What a debacle! Don’t try to be an Internal Service Club President and expect special treatment from John Murphy or Frank Griffith. First, Frank misinforms John as to the type of vehicle the Presidents will be arriving. Then, Frank produces parking signage without the aid of any form of directional information; such as an arrow. Add in rain, wind, cold weather, pine trees, Griffith’s hilly street and driveway, mud abounding and John Murphy following strict orders to park ‘normal’ cars UP the hill and make the occupants walk/slide down to the house and you have a recipe for DISASTER. The cost for forcing an international president to mudslide his way to breakfast…..$50/each
Bob Harbicht was way luckier during our break. Hobnobbing at Santa Anita Racetrack with Bo Derek and well…. Gary Kovacic. I’m not sure how we got to $20 but somehow I think standing next to Bo Derek, having your picture taken and published in the newspaper should have been worth more than that. Was Gary K a negation?
Also published in the newspaper was Jim Helms who felt obligated to pontificate to the public his opinion as to when we should all start to be prepared for the year. Prepared for what, I am not sure. However, his article was entitled “Waiting for Clarity”. While I wait, Jim pays $50
