Dave Didier announced the students of the month for November, 2009. They are Kristin Kimura, David Schuil, and Tiffany Yeh.
The honoree for Performing Arts is Kristin Kimura (17). Kristin is active in both the Orchesis Dance Company and basketball. She has served as Orchesis President, as a volunteer substitute dance teacher at Foothills Middle School, as a California Philharmonic volunteer leader, as historian of the Make Music Foundation, and as a Big Sister. As a scholar athlete, Kristin’s academic achievements are recognized by the National Honor Society, the California Scholarship Federation, and the Principal’s Recognition Roll. She is also a member of the Leo Club. Her volunteering activities won her the Resident’s Award. Kristin hopes to attend the University of California in Berkeley, majoring in Business.
The honoree for Athletics is David Schuil (18). David participates in football, basketball and baseball. He has been named most valuable player in freshman football, and junior varsity football. He has also been designated by the California Interscholastic Federation its second team All League linebacker. David’s volunteer activities include the annual Thanksgiving food drive and service with the athletic trainer at Arcadia High School. He is a member of the Young Republicans. David hopes to attend San Diego State University with a major in Business Finance. He would like to become an accountant and/or financial advisor.
The honoree for Academics is Tiffany Yeh (17). Tiffany has a 3.95 grade point average. Her activities include the Red Cross Club and the AHS yearbook, the Arcadian. She was editor of the sports section (from 2008 – 2009) and editor-in-chief (from 2009 – 2010). Tiffany was recognized by the National Honor Society (from 2007 to the present),and by the California Scholarship Federation (from 2006 to the present). She also received the certificate of merit in piano (level 1-9). Tiffany volunteers at Kaiser Permanente and also the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. She is active in the Chinese Christian Center. Tiffany hopes to attend Northwestern University with a major in Biochemical Engineering and Pre-medicine. Potential career goals include physician, anthesiologist, and medical/engineering professor.
