1.  FRANK HALL announced that the Rotary Amigos trip to Tijuana is now scheduled for 10/10/09 to visit various orphanages in the area and pick one orphanage for the club’s project.  He also announced that MATT WEAVER is is looking for interested persons to go with him to Thailand the early part of next year to work on the club’s water project; if interested contact MATT.  Also BRAD MILLER is looking for interested persons to go with him to New Zealand on the club’s Maori project the early part of next year; if interested contact BRAD.

2.  LAURA FREEDMAN announced that the club’s “Fall Fling No Brainer Wine Party” is scheduled for 09/27/09 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the home of MIMI HENNESSY, 2960 San Pasqual, Pasadena, CA 91107.  There is no charge to attend but everyone attending must bring an appetizer for 6-8 people and 1 or more bottles of wine to share.  A sign up sheet is being sent around at the club meeting.

3.  BOB DAO announced that Arcadia Red Cross is selling Entertainment books for $25; if interested contact BOB.

4.  TOM MILES announced an afternoon of golf at theSan Gabriel Country Club on Wednesday 10/21/09 with tee off at 12:30 p.m. ; if interested contact TOM.

5.  JACK PAN  announced that the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s “Taste of Arcadia” will be held 9/21/09 at a cost of $35/person.  Checks must be payable to “Arcadia Chamber of Commerce”.  The proceeds will benefit the Boy Scouts.

6.  RICH HUTTON announced that the District Governor TOM NOVOTNY will be our guest speaker at the club meeting  on 10/02/09, and the club will host a reception – dinner for the District Governor and his first lady that evening from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. on the lawn by the Queen Anne Cottage at the Arboretum.  Tram transportation for the lawn area will be available at the main entrance parking lot gate beginning at 5:00 P.M.  Dinner is $25/person and will be billed to your Rotary account.  Every member and member’s spouse or significant other is encouraged to attend the dinner and show the club’s support for our District Governor.

7.  The next club’s Board of Director’s meeting will be held on Wednesday 09/16/09 at 5:30 P.M. at the Arecadia Red Cross building located on the campus of Methodist Hospital.  All members are invited.
