Steve Pelletier announced that there are still tickets available for the ground-breaking ceremony for the Education Center of the Gilb Arcadia Heritage Museum. The event is on Sunday, September 29th at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $90. Please contact Steve if you’d like to attend.

Remember that on Monday, September 30th at 10 am the Post Alarm Systems 3rd Annual Golf Tournament will be held at the Glendora Country Club, 310 Amelia Ave., Glendora. The cost of $175 per person includes green fees, cart, range balls, and dinner. For those who aren’t golfers, dinner is a $50 donation. Proceeds from the tournament go to support the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills. Contact John Wilson or Rob Post if you would like to attend.

This Friday, October 4th District Governor Miles Petroff will visit Arcadia Rotary. It will be a Hawaiian theme and the wearing of Hawaiian shirts are encouraged – – in fact, strongly encouraged!

Just two weeks later on Friday, October 18th District Governor Petroff will visit with several Rotary Clubs at the L.A. County Arboretum’s Peacock Café. Come out to the Arboretum and spend some time with our District Govenor! Tram tours of the Arboretum will be available at 4:30 and 5:00 PM.

Then on Sunday, October 20th Arcadia Rotary will celebrate Octoberfest at the residence of Jim and Sandy Rider. Don’t miss this fun opportunity to raise a mug of “bier” with our esteemed Red Badgers. Jim’s home is located at 137 Mauna Loa in Monrovia.

On Sunday, October 27th the annual JDRF-LA “Walk for a Cure” of Juvenile Diabetes will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Walk begins at 11 a.m. Walkers are needed … and donors are needed … for this worthwhile event! Finally … are you ready for some F O O T B A L L ? ? ? Arcadia Rotary’s annual Monday Night Football event – one of the the most anticipated and enjoyed events of the year – will be held on Monday, October 28th at the Kalemkiarian’s residence at 1827 Rodeo Rd., Arcadia. Food, snacks, drinks … and football pools will be provided. The cost is $20 per person. Please bring prospective members to this fun event!
