On March 9, 2010, the Board of Education of the Arcadia Unified School District (AUSD) adopted Resolution No. 1211: In Opposition of Governor Schwarzenegger’s Proposed Budget.

The Governor’s proposed budget will reduce education funding by $900 million in the current year and an additional 2.4 billion in 2010-2011 school year. These unprecedented cuts will change education for an entire generation. If the proposed budget is implemented it will result in more than $4,000,000 in additional reductions to the Arcadia Unified School District budget.

We respectfully urge the Governor and the Legislature to minimize the fiscal impact to schools in the process of balancing the state budget.
